Three jobs, and still holding my breath

We lived in Branson, where the work dries up for a few months every year — and there was nothing I could do about it. So I stacked three jobs to cover those quiet months: travel sales for Westgate Resorts, DoorDash in the middle of the day, and Victoria's Secret at night. Nine months of that, every year, just to afford to keep our condo. I'd married, just had my second baby, and I barely saw either of my kids.

The year I said "never again"

When COVID hit, something in me settled. I had a degree from Missouri State University and a feeling there was more out there — I'd watched other people build it online. So I looked, and looked, until I found digital marketing. It cracked open a whole new world for me.

Building the exit on the side of a 9-to-5

I left the three jobs for a normal 9-to-5 at the Secretary of State's office — and quietly built my digital marketing business in the margins. Eight months in, I made the plan: grow a real savings cushion, hit consistent $10K months, and walk away on purpose. So I did.

A life I actually get to live

My first year in digital marketing, I hit six figures. I'm a full-time, traveling mom now — six vacations this year, no permission slips required. I don't save up toward goals anymore; there's surplus, and I thank God for it every day. We started out scrambling just to keep our condo — now we're financially ready to buy our first home. And because I missed building a team, I came back to what I love: leading other women, health and wellness, and showing the average person exactly how this works.

I don't have to wonder anymore whether I can say yes to my kids. I just can.
